Illustration challenge catch up

I think I'm the only one who actually sees this so I'm only putting the pictures up. Can't be bothered writing about it.

52 Week challenge update

Week 18: Celestial body. Water colour, pen and texta.
Inspired by one of my favourite nursery rhymes. Very happy with this one.

Week 18: Celestial body. "Moon Rabbit" Glitter paper, gel pen, pencil.
My new favourite song at the moment is 'moon rabbit'. It's been stuck on my head for days and it got me thinking "what would a moon rabbit look like?" That's when the light bulb came on and here we are. Glowing blue rabbits that live in craters (which are actually moon rabbit burrows) that have races around the earth (which we mistake for shooting stars)
Glitter paper isn't the easiest thing to photograph and it's 3D so it looks much more effective in person, but you get the gist.

Week 17: Horse - Pencil on craft board
I had so much trouble with this one. I couldn't get the colours right and I had to alter the original design because it wasn't working. I adjusted the levels a fair bit in photoshop because it wasn't scanning properly and I'm still not very happy with it. oh well, bring on next weeks theme.

Illustration challenge/ Market

I have discovered that packing board is the best stuff to draw on! It doesn't tare or wrinkle, you can blend really well on it, you'll never rub a whole through it and you don't need to frame it! I love it!

Week 15: Detail 2

Illustration challenge update

Week 15: Detail

Technically this theme doesn't start until tomorrow, but I finished early and had to share.
This is done in coloured pencil and the first I've done in this style. I've never been good with pencils so I'm really surprised at how it turned out. It was meant to be bigger but I got impatient and started rushing and mucked up the edges. I need to learn that it's ok to spend more than 1 day on a piece. (especially if I'm already early)

Illustration challenge updated

Week 14: Simplicity

Done with fine liner, watercolour and pencil. I was originally going to go for simple shapes and plain colours for this theme, but after seeing some other submissions I decided to take a more conceptual approach. Hopefully it isn't too vague. (Hint: It's about craving simplicity)

The background of the blog was my second submission. I was just lucky enough to need a simple picture to use as a back drop.
